Custom routes and enterprise connectivity
When an off-the-shelf circuit cannot reach the right place or provide the right control, Quad State Internet can design a custom route from our Kentucky and Illinois core. We combine construction, fiber rights, interconnection, and managed services into one practical plan.

Commercial models that match the job
A project may use a construction contribution, monthly service, long-term IRU, or a blend of these models. The right structure depends on the route, permitting, capacity, service term, and how much operational control you want.
Dark fiber IRU: dedicated strands, laterals, access points, or route segments with a long-term right of use.
Lit capacity IRU: committed bandwidth on a private optical path without operating the glass yourself.
Managed transport: Ethernet, wavelength, or private IP service with Quad State Internet operating the network layer.- Hybrid build: customer-funded construction paired with ongoing operations, monitoring, and maintenance.

Every project starts with the locations, capacity, and intended outcome. From there, we determine the right route and develop the construction-ready plan.
Share the project requirements
Send the locations, capacity, timing, route objectives, handoff type, and resilience requirements. We use these details to confirm the project scope and whether it is inside or outside our existing broadband footprint.
Complete the Preliminary Route Study
Projects outside our existing Southern Illinois and Kentucky broadband footprint begin with a $5,000 non-refundable Preliminary Route Study. We evaluate potential routes, available rights-of-way, major obstacles, and conceptual route options. If the project moves forward, the full $5,000 is credited toward the Permit-Ready Build Process.
Receive permit-ready plans and choose who builds
The Permit-Ready Build Process delivers finalized construction plans, permitting information, a definitive construction schedule, and a firm project price. You may have Quad State Internet build the route and/or circuit, or use our plans with another contractor.
