Paducah, KY - July 14, 2025 - Core Transit LLC (Autonomous System 1097), a U.S.-based IP transit and BGP routing provider, has officially joined the Paducah Internet Exchange (PIE), marking a key step in expanding interconnection opportunities across the Quad-State region.
About Core Transit
Core Transit, founded in 2022 and headquartered in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, operates ASN 1097 and provides BGP transit and IP routing services to ISPs, hosting providers, and enterprises. With a large and diverse footprint, Core Transit offers scalable and reliable network transit across North America and beyond.
About Paducah Internet Exchange (PIE)
Paducah IX is the region’s first carrier-neutral Internet Exchange Point, located in Paducah, KY. It provides free peering over 100 Gbps ports to networks with an ASN and Layer-2 transport, improving traffic efficiency and lowering latency for participants. The exchange is home to regional and global peers, including Quad State Internet and Hurricane Electric.
Strategic Impact
Core Transit is in the process of completing its presence at the Paducah Internet Exchange. While final equipment activation is still pending, the organization is now positioned to begin establishing peering relationships and coordinating with existing exchange participants. Their involvement will enhance route diversity and support PIE’s continued regional expansion. By bringing both regional and global reach, Core Transit strengthens the exchange’s role as a critical hub for efficient, low-latency interconnection.
Next Steps
Core Transit will proceed with activating its equipment on-site to complete physical connectivity. In the meantime, they are actively available for peering coordination and can begin establishing bilateral relationships with other networks at the exchange. Joint initiatives are also in planning to support route optimization, traffic monitoring, and a forthcoming Peering Day event aimed at growing awareness and participation in the regional Internet ecosystem.
